Booking your first lesson

Getting started on Vocally takes just a few minutes.

Find a tutor

Open the tutor catalog and narrow it down with the filters that matter to you:

• Language you want to learn
• Price per lesson
• Specialties — conversation, business, exam prep, and so on
• Country and the languages a tutor speaks

Each tutor card shows their price, lesson length and a short intro so you can compare at a glance. Open a profile to watch their intro video and read what other students said.

Book a trial or a lesson

Open a tutor’s profile and pick a time that works for you.

1. Choose a trial lesson (25 or 50 minutes) to meet the tutor first, or book a full lesson right away.
2. Confirm the time in your own timezone.
3. Pay securely — you’re all set.

Teaching with the same tutor regularly? Buy a package from their profile and your lessons come out of it, at a lower price per lesson.

Prefer to message first? Send the tutor a question from their profile before you book.

Join your lesson

Lessons happen over video inside Vocally. When it’s time, open your upcoming lesson and join the call directly in your browser — no extra software to install.

Leaving a review

Once you’ve completed your first paid lesson with a tutor, you can rate them and write a review from their profile. Trial lessons don’t unlock reviews: a trial is there for you and the tutor to see whether you’re a good fit, so it never becomes a rating for them. You can update your review as you keep learning together.
