Payments, packages & cancellations
How paying for lessons, discounted packages, cancellations and refunds work.
Updated August 10, 2026
How you pay
Payments are handled securely through Stripe. You choose how you pay:
- Per lesson — pay for one lesson at a time.
- Package — buy several lessons with the same tutor up front, at a discounted price. Package lessons are credits you spend whenever you book with that tutor.
You always see the full price before you confirm.
Trial lessons
A trial is a shorter, reduced-price lesson so you can meet a tutor before committing. Trials come in 25- or 50-minute lengths, and you can take one trial per tutor — after that, lessons with that tutor are booked at their regular price. You can still try a trial with as many different tutors as you like.
Cancelling or rescheduling
You can cancel a lesson on your own up to 12 hours before it starts, and the payment is refunded in full.
Inside those last 12 hours, cancelling is no longer yours to decide alone: open the lesson and ask your tutor to reschedule, saying why. Your tutor can offer you new times or decline. If they decline, the lesson stands and stays paid.
Your tutor can cancel at any time, and you are always made whole when they do.
Refunds
| What happened | What you get back |
|---|---|
| You cancel 12+ hours before the start | Full refund |
| You cancel later, or don’t show up | No refund — the lesson counts as taught |
| Your tutor cancels, or doesn’t show up | Full refund |
If the lesson came out of a package, the refund puts the lesson credit back into your package instead of returning money — the credit is yours to rebook whenever you want. Lessons paid one at a time are refunded to the card you paid with.
