Setting up your tutor profile

Right after you create your tutor account you go through a five-step setup. It’s the profile students will see, so it’s worth taking your time with it.

Your progress is saved at every step, on our servers and not just in your browser. You can select Save & exit at any point and pick up exactly where you left off later — even on a different device.

1. About you

Who you are and the link your public profile will use.

• Profile photo — required. A clear, friendly headshot works best.
• Display name — your full name. Students publicly see your first name and last initial.
• Username — the end of your profile link. It follows your display name as you type, and stops following it the moment you type your own. We check availability as you go.
• Country.
• About you — at least 50 characters describing your teaching style, experience and what a student can expect.
• Intro video — a YouTube or Vimeo link. This is the first thing most students watch.

2. Languages

• Languages you speak, each with your level. At least one has to be marked native, and you can mark at most two.
• Languages you teach — you can only offer a language you speak at C1 or above, so this list is built from the previous one.
• Specialties — what you focus on (conversation, business, exam prep, and so on). Pick Other to describe one that isn’t listed.

3. Experience

Optional, but it’s what students read to decide they can trust you. Add entries for your education, professional experience and certifications.

You can attach a diploma or certificate to an education or certification entry. Our verification team reviews it and that’s how you earn the verified badge. Only the verification team sees the file — it is never shown on your profile. Professional experience entries can’t be backed by a document.

4. Availability & rate

• Time zone — everything else is shown in it.
• Weekly hours — the ranges you’re generally available, day by day. You can block specific dates later from your calendar.
• Price per lesson — for your standard 50-minute lesson, between $10 and $250. You can change it anytime.
• Trial price — at least $3, and never above your regular lesson price.
• Trial lengths — 25 minutes, 50 minutes, or both.

5. Review & agree

The last step shows a summary of the profile you just built, plus the service fee terms that will apply to you — the tiered fee and the 50/50 trial split, at the numbers your own plan uses. To finish you have to:

• accept the Terms of Service and the Tutor Policy,
• decide whether to opt out of being featured in Vocally ads (leave the box unchecked to allow it), and
• type your full legal name as a digital signature.

Select Finish and your profile is submitted for review.

What happens after you submit

Your profile is not visible to students until our team approves it. We send you a confirmation email, and the status is always shown at the top of your tutor dashboard:

• Under review — we’re looking at it, usually within a few days.
• Needs a few changes — the reviewer’s notes appear in the banner. Update your profile and select Submit for review again.
• Approved — you’re live and students can find and book you.
• Not approved — write to support@vocallyglobal.com if you think it’s a mistake.

The verified badge is separate from approval: it comes from the credential documents you attached in step 3, and you can still upload them from your dashboard after you’re approved.
